#1 Bittersweet by Spencer Schmidt What else would you expect from Jon Schmidt's son other than wicked good music? This song is uplifting, catchy and yet smooth. His voice is like... really attractive. Really. Attractive. What I love most about this song is that I believe what he is singing as if he were singing it to me. Listen to the lyrics and you will get it, too. It is a song about moving on, being happy and letting someone love you for you! I love it and has really helped me to just be okay! PS: if you go to the actual youtube page for this music video, my comment is a top comment! And if you don't know youtube very well that probably makes no sense but basically my comment was "liked" by other people and is always the first comment you see on the page. I asked if he was an RM and if I could date him... I later found out that he just graduated high school... bummer for me :P
#2 Brighter Than the Sun by Colbie Callait I like this song so much better than fallin' for you. It is even catchier, happier and makes you smile ear to ear. Also, you cannot help but dance when it plays. I love how summery it is and the music video makes you want to plant a garden... on your bed. And it helps if it relates to you too... :)
#3 Tonight Tonight by Hot Chelle Rae Tonight we are going to party. And even though life sucks, it goes on. And I love the carefree attitude of this song and it is oh so blastable. I honestly cranked this up on the surround sound system around the pool at the Gilbert's house in July and I have never been happier.
#4 Who Says by Selena Gomez Shoot me now, I like a Disney star's song. But I literally get chills when I listen to it! I love the message as corny and dorky as that makes me.
#5 Goodnight Goodnight by Maroon 5 On a more somber note... Sometimes you wonder how someone could actually write what was in your head. It amazes me and is the reason I completely adore music in every way. This is one of those songs that just says it all. Literally. And as a side note: funny how also on this playlist is "tonight tonight" and the music video is slightly less PG but the concept just blows me away and helps the story and truthfulness of the song to me (even though it's a little more PG-13 than I would like, haha).
#6 How To Love by Lil Wayne (cover by Sam Tsui) I love this cover more than the original. Sam Tsui is such a good singer and I always enjoy his songs. I like this cool and coffee shop type but still powerful rendition.
#7 Sensitivity by Alex Goot The theme of this playlist is turning out to be songs about moving on and finding yourself... or something like that. And here is another one of those songs. One of my new sources for music is youtube. It's the new myspace and there are some really good artists out there! Alex Goot is one of them! But I like this upbeat song and it makes me happy. Also, Melanie if you are reading this... this kid is Brennan, no lie. Haha.
#8 All About Us by He is We I should make a whole entire playlist for this band. They are literally the best. I love their indie, charming, simple but epic sound! This song is adorable and great for times when you're just so happy about... a boy... or... something :)
#9 Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5 This is just such a good pump it up song and you have to sing along! I don't know how I feel about Christina Aguilera in it but the bass is sweet though! I love this song when it comes on when I am driving! And even though I have a legitimate, hardcore, undeniable, serious celebrity crush on Adam Levine... he looks really weird/flamboyant in this music video. Lame.
#10 Shaytards Theme Song by NicePeter This is the most unconventional song on the planet but it literally gets stuck in my head everyday. Background: The Shaytard's are an LDS family on youtube and they post daily vlogs/videos about their life! And you wouldn't really think they are Mormon at first glance but they totally are and I'm obsessed with their videos! I think they are a great family and I love watching them. Anyways, their friend/fellow youtuber NicePeter (a musician who is also awesome) wrote the intro/jingle for the beginning of their videos. And I love it. Maybe you need to see the Shaytard's to get the song, so do that too! Watch them! They are funny (and extremely wild) and you will love it. And this intro song. The end.
Well there you have my top 10 songs of the moment. I had fun and I hope you did too!
